African Diaspora Council of Switzerland (ADCS)

About Us

Over 100,000 Africans and people of African descent live and work across Switzerland. Spread across 26 cantons and thriving in cities like Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, and Bern, our community is active in various sectors—from law, healthcare, and academia to diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and technology.
Founded on November 6, 2010, in memory of Wilhelm Joos and in response to the tragic death of JNC, a Nigerian asylum seeker, the African Diaspora Council of Switzerland (ADCS) emerged as a national voice advocating for justice, unity, and empowerment.

Our Mission

ADCS stands on two strong pillars

Integration

We connect and empower Africans in Switzerland by:

Establishing a national networking platform that links individuals, associations, businesses, embassies, and institutions.

Promoting inclusion, representation, and advocacy on the Swiss national stage.

Development

We strengthen ties with the African continent through:

Supporting Diaspora-led development projects

Facilitating the transfer of expertise, knowledge, and resources

Encouraging economic empowerment and remittances for community development
